  • European experience exchange for students in child care and painting and decorating

    Project content:

    In frame of Leonardo da Vinci - mobility we realised a two-week project for students from UK in direction of child care and painting as well as decorating. The focus of project was to make experiences abroad in above-named directions like staffing structure, policies and procedures and working techniques and procedures, to get information about German living and culture respectively traditions. Starting with introduction of German vocational training in child care and painting/decorating the students had a German language course specially for learning specialist terms of their professions. Behind them we arranged an intercultural training with focus on exchange about stereotypes and sentences. On the 4th day of stay the students started to pass their one-week work placement in several kindergarten and technical companies of Chemnitz. The work with the English students was very effectively and successful for both sides. Under the week we offered some free time activities like bowling competition in our own bowling hall, swim as well as disco. Furthermore they used the gym hall, internet room and our leisure time centre for free.

    On the weekend there was a tour to capital of Saxony Dresden with visit of town by city guide and Frauenkirche as well.

    Finally it was a very interesting experience for our institution because we as hosting organisation received the first time groups from UK in our long time work in field of Leonardo da Vinci. We would be glad to be hosting partner of this school again.
